Mont Blanc, Gran Paradiso and ancient Roman city of Aosta
We start from Courmayeur, reaching the peak of Punta Helbronner (3465m) by the exclusive panoramic lift “Sky Way Monte Bianco”, on top of which you can enjoy amazing panoramic views of 360°.
From this spot, you feel as you are already very close to the top of Mont Blanc, and in good weather we may descend on the glacier!
Then we move to the village of Cogne, the core of the Gran Paradiso Park.
Here we will have a walk to the waterfalls, followed by a lunch in one of the best restaurants in the area, offering an outstanding view of the Gran Paradiso glacier.
The restaurant serves fresh trout, cheese fondue, grilled meats, and other local, Italian, French and Swiss traditional dishes.
After lunch we continue with a tour and wine tasting at the largest wine cooperative of Aosta Valley, which produces exquisite white, red, rosé and sparkling wines.
Then we will have a walk through Aosta and, on the way back, we will have an aperitif in a medieval castle.
In the afternoon you will have a walk to the ancient Roman city of Aosta, founded 25 BC, along the Roman-Gallic road.
You will see the well-preserved Roman gate, the Theatre, the big triumph arch, the towers and the cathedral.
