Wine tasting of precious wines of Aosta Valley

During wine tasting tour at Maison Anselmet Winery you’ll taste the unique wine Mains et Coeur 2016 (100% Chardonnay).

Vintage 2016 – sunny summers, good temperature fluctuations, sufficient rainfall – all this contributed to an increase of production by 20%.

This wine is one of the many creations of Giorgio Anselmet. Chardonnay, which remind you the great Burgundy wines, originated in 1988 from clone 9636, bought in the village of Mersault, in the heart of Côte d’Or and planted in the Aosta Valley at an altitude of 880 mt a.s.level

After harvesting the grapes are pressed directly in French medium-toasted barriques, without clarification of the batonnage, followed by aging for 18 months.

The colour of wine is golden yellow with intense and delicate aromas of chamomile, white flowers and citrus.

The wine attracts of its freshness, complex aromas in which harmoniously interwoven notes of green apple, pear, pineapple, vanilla, marzipan, tropical fruit, stone, flowers and almond. After a few minutes it becomes even more attractive due to its citrus and butter texture. The finish is very long, bright, enveloping. After an hour the wine opens in a glass, and its aroma is fully consistent with taste.

The wine is ideal as an aperitif, as well as as an accompaniment to dishes of white meat, fish, shellfish, noble crustaceans, lobsters and cheeses.
