Hiking to albert premiere mountain hut in chamonix
The refuge Albert Premiere was named in honour of the Belgian King Albert I, a lover of sports and mountaineering. On his order was built the hut which now is the starting point for many alpine routes on Mont Blanc Massif. We propose 3 different routes to rich the Albert Premiere refuge:1. For children and beginners we suggest to get the cable car up from Le Tour and then the chairlift to Col de Balme (2180m). The journey time will take approximately 1hr 40min. 2. At Le Tour (1453m) we take the cable car to Charamillion (1856m). Here we start the hike up to reach the Albert Premier hut. The views across the glacier are extraordinary, with the peak of the Aiguille de Chardonnay and the Forbes Arrete to its left to the fore. Walking time is approximately 2 hours.3. If you prefer the longer trek you can start from Le Tour village (1453m) and then steepens before contouring round towards the Le Tour glacier and finally up the glacial moraine to the Albert Premier hut (2700m). Total walking time is approximately 4 hours.
In the refuge is possible to have lunch or to have a sandwich. The path is exposed in places and we may have some snow patches to cross.
